Adrian Smith Grass Services provide golf course greens maintenance to golf clubs locally in Suffolk and East Anglia, and further a field in Essex, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. With over ten years experience in this field we provide a professional golf course maintenance service to care for your greens and enhance the playing conditions of your club.
With golf course greens in use all year round, they sustain a considerable amount of wear and tear. This is usually concentrated around certain areas of the green such as the walk on areas and pin positions. To ensure optimum playing conditions and an attractive, healthy course, we recommend the following golf course maintenance programme:
Golf course greens and tees require cutting at least three times a week during as a minimum during the growing season and up to seven times a week for the most exclusive clubs. Fairways and surrounds need cutting twice a week. Between November and March the frequency of cutting is reduced and once or twice a week is sufficient.
Lawn aeration needs to be carried out twice a year to relieve compaction, improve drainage and aid root growth.
The above practices will improve the putting quality, flatness and uniformity of greens.
A bespoke maintenance programme for the above will be created to suit individual club requirements. Through regular, light maintenance, green quality will be consistent throughout the year and disruption of play will be avoided.
